Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
At home or at a small office, space is often a premium. Instead of getting a computer printer, a scanner, and a copier as three separate units, it might be wiser and more affordable to put all those functions together in one unit. That's the concept of a multifunction device. The Canon ImageClass MF3110 does all that and does it extremely well. With all the features you need for copying, printing and scanning, the imageCLASS MF3110 has the functions you need to keep pace in any busy office. Copy letter-size documents at a speed of 21 copies-per-minute and enjoy the same speed for your laser printing. Print resolutions run at 1200 x 600 dpi and copy resolutions runs at 600 x 600 dpi for sharp production. A color scanner with CCD technology ensures that scanned images are more true to the original using up to 1200 x 2400 dpi optical to 9600 x 9600 dpi interpolated resolutions at up to 48-bit color depth. Scanned documents can input directly to your computer (scan editing software is included).

The printer itself is monochrome - printing grayshades. It uses a fast reliable laser print mechanism that's quiet and sharp. The included X25 cartridge has an up to 2500 page printing capacity, far greater than most ink cartridges. That means more prints at a lower cost. So for home biz or small biz, the Canon MF3110 is a high value product that you'll love to own and use. When space and productivity are significant issues, the MF3110 is truly a best buy in this class. Included software on CD - Canon driver for Windows, ScanSoft OmniPage SE (OCR), NewSoft Presto! Page Manager Large capacity up to 250 sheet front-load paper cassette tray Works with Windows 98/Me/2000/XP Has USB and Parallel port connectivity Multifunction LCD screen Individual unit dimensions 17.7(W) x 18.2(D) x 14.5(H) / Weighs about 25 pounds Canon USA 1-Year Limited Warranty

4 out of 5 stars We're happy with this printer   July 5, 2007

I would say it jams only a little more frequently than I'd expect, which is mildly annoying, but overall this is a great printer for the price, especially with the ability to create pdf documents included. The image/print quality is good. We use this as our main office printer and scanner and probably print 50-100 sheets a day.

3 out of 5 stars Broken!   May 23, 2007

I concur with reviews above. I got this in, oh, July or August last year. I really pretty much have loved it, and it's great value for money; the scanner is perfectly good, it's a good laser printer, it's extraordinarily convenient having xerox capabilities in my home office. But the paper started jamming very regularly a few months ago, and the front cover kind of broke off so that I had to jam it on with my foot in order for it to print, and now it's definitively broken--the toner cartridge is stuck, can't get it out, and clearly this machine's life is over. And it's May--that's less than a year life. The price is so affordable, and I use the printer heavily enough, that I don't feel that I didn't get value for money. But from a recycling/ecological point of view it's fairly appalling. I will just get a new one and throw this one away, because the cost of getting it repaired would be too excessive; but this is terribly wasteful.

2 out of 5 stars Reasonable performance but durability lacking   March 10, 2007

The performance of the MF3110 is okay (especially for the price) but I found that the durability was lacking--my died after 5 months and it would cost more to ship it and get it fixed than to buy a completely new one. Also, the output is not the sharpest compared to other b/w lasers.

1 out of 5 stars it is very bad   February 23, 2007

I had this machine for two years. The first year was great. Now, it gave me all kind of the troubles. The worst one is the paper jam. it will jam even you only put one page in the paper tray.It also has problems with paper setting. It will give you error messages even when you have the correct setting.Horrible product.

4 out of 5 stars Good Laser Printer for the Price   January 12, 2007

I bought this Printer about 18 months ago and I must say that so far it is going good. I and my kids do a lot of printing (8-10 Pages/Wk) and so far I did not need to change the toner. Although I am dreading when I would have to beacsue it is expensive..

There are some minor bugs with this printer. Sometimes, the scan or copy button doesn't work. After you press scan or copy, it gets stuck. I have to power cycle the printer before it start working. If the paper is low, the paper tends to get stuck. So, I keep a good supply in the printerall the time.
Over all I give it 4 star beacause it does the job and it is fast.
